Bible Note: This verse has always fascinated me. Even today we speak of a "last will and testament." This kind of language originated in scripture. It is clue that vouches for the origins of our legal systems in the Word of God. If a man writes a will, it does not activate without the death of the owner of the will. In the same way, the second covenant became effective upon the death of our Savior. |
