AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 8:5 They serve as a pattern and foreshadowing of [what has its true existence and reality in] the heavenly things (sanctuary). For when Moses was about to erect the tabernacle, he was warned by God, saying, "SEE THAT YOU MAKE it all [exactly] ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN WHICH WAS SHOWN TO YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN." [Ex 25:40] |
Bible Question:
Saints, Greetings in Jesus' name! A friend asked me the following questions: 1. Was the tabernacle constructed before Moses went up to Mt. Sinai or when he came back down? The scripture shows that the tabernacle was pitched at the base of the mountain before the golden calf problem, but then afterward it sounds like they are just beginning to construct it. Was that scripture kind of a review of the first description of the building or was it actually being constructed after the golden calf was destroyed? 2. Why were only the innards and the legs washed before being sacrificed and not the rest of the animal? 3. Why were certain parts of the different animals sacrificed on different sides of the altar? Bible Answer: Greetings Charis! The only information on that that I can find is related to the fellowship or peace offering. In this offering all that was burnt was the kidneys, tge appendage fo the liver which shall be removed with the kidneys and the fatthat covers and surrounds the entrails. The rest of the animal was to be eaten by the worshipper, his family and his friends in a fellowship meal. (Lev 7:16). I will see if I can find the answer to answer your question in a broader sense. prayon |
