Subject: New Covenant beginning |
Bible Note: Hi, movingon... You are assuming that the New Covenant took place at the moment of Christ's death. Thinking in those terms, one could easily make the argument that it did not begin until His Resurrection. Indeed, based on the explanation we have in Hebrews, one might argue that it had its beginning only after the Ascension. Of course, none of that would be possible without the Advent. I do not think that every Christian in 21 centuries got it wrong. :-) If the gospel message of Christ's birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension, etc. were not absolutely integral to the New Covenant. It would be rather silly to chop up the gospels and place part of them after Malachi and the rest of them just before Acts. :-) Tell me, movingon, haven't you been on our forum in the past, under a different name?
