Bible Question (short): GOD gives Jesus the power to save? |
Question (full): I was reading some commentaries on the bible and it stated "He is the only man who is now the Mediator between God and mankind (1 Tim. 2:5). It is Jesus Christ to whom God has given the power to “save to the uttermost” all who call upon his name, because he ever lives to make intercession for us (Heb. 7:25)." I believe that Jesus is GOD. For the most part I have many scriptures that support it. However, I sometimes run across some that I need explanation. For example the above one says GOD gave the power to save. Is this a correct commentary to say GOD gave Jesus. Since Jesus is GOD how is he given the power to save? I thought he always had that power. There were just many prophecies that need to be fulfilled before it was "actualized". Noveta |
