Bible Question: Is it posible to lose your salvation? |
Bible Answer: Hello, This quesiton has sent tremors throughout God's professed people, but like ALL basic doctrinal questions the Word of God gives us perfect and complete answers. I always use the KJV so all references come from that. Here are some verses that are certain regarding this very tampered subject. Ezekiel 18:24 states: "But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? . . ." Read the rest of this verse to find out what happens when a righteous man commits sin. In 2 Peter 2:21 states: "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them." Read verse 20 also. Hebrews has the most powerful evidence that we can make ourselves lost, put ourselves into a lost condition by sinning. Chapter 6:4-6 states: "For it is impossiblefor those who were once enlightened. . . If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance. . ." Paraphrase These verses are very certain. Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us but we could sure leave Him. He knocks on the door of our heart; Rev. 3:20, but we have to open the door, and many don't. Many even open the door and slam it shut in his face. |
