Bible Question: IN LUKE 2:52 IT SAYS THAT JESUS GREW IN IN WISDOM AND STATURE AND IN FAVOR WITH GOD AND MEN. HOW COULD JESUS GROW IN WISDOM IF HE WAS OMNISCIENT AND ALL WISE. FOR HE WAS BOTH GOD AND MAN. |
Bible Answer: I believe that He grew in the wisdom of God as He grew older. Yes, He was omniscient but I do believe He learned from the Creator Himself as He was humanly maturing. How can it be that He knows all but still is learning? I do not know if I can really understand it myself but I believe God revealed to Jesus what He needed to know each and every day. I believe Christ matured every day by always being in His Father's will. This brings to mind another question. Why did He not start His ministry until He was 30 years old? Since these were human minds writing the Bible with the inspiration of God it is possible they really did not(as we don't) have the vocabulary to express Godly things. I don't know if I have explained this to anybody's satisfaction but it is my opinion and I am entitled to be wrong occasionally. The more I think about this the more I realize I don't know the answer to the question. |
