Bible Question: Was Jesus disciplined as a child? |
Bible Answer: I know of no verse in the Gospels wherein is recorded an incident where the child Jesus was disciplined by His mother or by Joseph. This alone is not proof that He was never disciplined. Instead, it is one of those things on which the Bible is silent. As such, we dare not go beyond that which is written and speculate too much. . . . Heb 5:8 NASB Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. . . . Heb 12:8-10 NASB But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them. |
