Bible Question: Does anyone know the verse(s) that talk about Jesus saying (or someone saying about Jesus?) that He is no different than you or I? It may be words directly from Him or a refernce to Him or...? |
Bible Answer: For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son IN THE LIKENESS OF SINFUL FLESH and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, Romans 8:3 NASB (Emphasis added.) Therefore, HE HAD TO BE MADE LIKE HIS BRETHREN in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:17 NASB (Emphasis added.) For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things AS WE ARE, YET WITHOUT SIN. Hebrews 4:15 NASB (Emphasis added.) In answer to your question, the key words in the above verses are "likeness", "like" and "as". Jesus was made in the LIKENESS of man, LIKE his brethren, and AS we are, yet without sin. Nowhere does the Bible say that He is no different from you or me. Grace to you, John |
