NASB | Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. |
Bible Question:
Did Jesus experience every kind of trial and temptation that we do? I seem to recall a Scripture verse that states or implies that, but am having trouble locating it. Thanks, --Cheryl |
Bible Answer: Greetings Cheryl: Heb 4:15 comes to mind "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Heb. 4:18 The important thing to notice is that he was tempted "yet without sin" Because he is God he could not be tempted to do evil, however, this does not prevent him from empathizing with our weakness and needs. Heb. 2: 17-18 speak of Christ in a similar way. God Bless Robert |
