NASB | Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. |
Bible Question: What can we learn from Jesus' encounter with Satan? Matthew 4 vs 1-11 |
Bible Answer: Jesus was tempted in many of the ways we are tempted on this occasion. He also was tempted in the ways that Adam and Eve were tempted, only He won back the rulership of the world by not falling as they did. Now we can claim the victory based on what He won. He also showed us how to overcome temptation. Memorizing scripture is a prime defense against the enemy. Debbie |
