NASB | Hebrews 13:17 ¶ Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 13:17 ¶ Obey your [spiritual] leaders and submit to them [recognizing their authority over you], for they are keeping watch over your souls and continually guarding your spiritual welfare as those who will give an account [of their stewardship of you]. Let them do this with joy and not with grief and groans, for this would be of no benefit to you. |
Bible Question:
It just so happenes that the Pastor who I listen to and admire is a National figure. He does not live in my state, so the only way I am able to here him is over the radio or the internet. I really do not believe there is a ministry in my area that will give me the teaching that I respect and love like I get from this well known preacher. Can I rightfully call this preacher my pastor? |
Bible Answer: Mincc, I also have in the past have listened and excepted a pastor from another state. First of all, if you feel that the pastors in your area are not teaching the true word of God, and have doubt to this and are happy with your relationship via radio or television, then who am I to object. But I hope that you are supporting this ministry. Also are staying in the Word of God and am communicating with your questions. Yes, we need to be held accountable, but shall we be to a pastor or pastors in your area who you feel are not biblically correct. 2 Tim. 2:15, Seek the Father daily. Your Friend, Serenetime |
