Bible Question:
God is Love (John 4:8) I believe that with all my heart. I know that even if I/we quit loving Him He won't quit loving me/us. However, referring to the text above, how can we justify this text to one who He is A God of Love? How can one love a consuming fire? Are we to take the word "consuming Fire" in its literal meaning or there is something deep to mean it? |
Bible Answer: inheavenseyes, God's fire consumes His enemies, but for His friends purifies the dross of sin. 1 Cor 3:13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. 1 Cor 3:15 If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 2 Thess 1:7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, Heb 1:7 And of the angels He says, "WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE." Heb 10:27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES. Emmaus |
