AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God's absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, |
Bible Question: How does a encumbrance (or weight) differ from a sin? |
Bible Answer: an encumbrance is a matter of not being able to let go of the things of life which allow our attention to be diverted from that which we should be doing, such as not wanting to leave a comfortable home to go out and serve the word,or on another scale, being unable to stop grieving for the death of a loved one. sin, however, is an act of deliberation in the knowledge of difference between right and wrong. |
