NASB | Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him. |
Bible Question: how can you define faith, according to Heb 11:1 |
Bible Answer: I can think of no better verse to describe "Faith", as seen from God's point of view, than Heb 11:6, Hbr 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Note that the verse is in two parts, the first part is easy, even the devils believe, and tremble, see James 2:19. It is the second part that is the difficult bit. Exercising faith, is not "I hope it will happen", but "I know it will hapen". |
