NASB | Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 11:5 By faith [that pleased God] Enoch was caught up and taken to heaven so that he would not have a glimpse of death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD HAD TAKEN HIM; for even before he was taken [to heaven], he received the testimony [still on record] that he had walked with God and pleased Him. Subject: who was the first of all prophets |
Bible Note: Janae: Maybe I missed something, but I don't see where or how the Bible identifies Melchizedek as a prophet. In the ESV the name Melchizedek appears in 10 verses (11 verses in the KJV). In most of these verses the word "priest" is used. In none of them is the word "prophet" used. I'm not being critical here. I'm just trying to understand how you came to your conclusion. I do appreciate you and your input to the forum. Grace to you, Kalos |
