NASB | Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality--faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. |
Bible Question: I have done the search and find it hard to understand why no one has ask the question, so here goes. What would you say to someone who suggested that becoming a Christian is not a good idea because it involves a "blind leap of faith" |
Bible Answer: While we accept Christ as Lord by faith I would hardly classify it as a "blind leap." Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see." How could we be "sure" if it were indeed a "blind leap?" We have the Word of God and a great "cloud of witnesses" on which to base our faith. It could only be a blind leap of faith if we had no assurance of the truth. I hope this helps. Dave |
