Bible Question:
Suppose a friend is seriously admitted in the hospital and you are requested to pray for him,how would you pray? would it be based on faith bigger than a mustard seed that goes"God, with mountain moving faith,i believe in a miracle healing no matter how bad things seem to be" Mark 11:24 "When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it,and whatever you asked for, will be given to you" When his disciples asked Jesus why they couldn't cure the boy with a demon,he said it was because they didn't have enough faith. When the storm came and everyone panicked,Jesus again stressed on faith which could calm the wildest of storms. But,....God has his own ways and his own plans. Not all prayers are answered the way we want....no matter how much faith we put in.... .SOOOooo...should it be more like "Not my will, but your will"...."Thy will be done"...like praying that things happen the way they are supposed to...hmm??...but why do we have to pray that way when its going to happen anyway??becoz the life of that person is entirely in God's hands! wouldn't it be more like saying..."God,I know you can heal[ok,so u have faith]but will you?[u can decide on that Lord]" is that how we r supposed to pray? views on this plzz |
Bible Answer: I would only offer this the words of our great Lord , Savior, and God Jesus Christ. (NKJV) Matthew 6:1 "Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 "Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 "But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 "that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. 5 " And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who [is] in the secret [place;] and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen [do.] For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as [it is] in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. The answer would be to pray for God's perfect will in any given situation. This can be clearly seen in Matthew 26:37-44 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me." 39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You [will."] 40 Then He came to the disciples and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What? Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak." 42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done." 43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. 44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Her we clearly see the principels from chapter 6 lived out in Jesus praying for the Father's will to done.Hope this helps. In The Love Of Christ, Tom tgc |
