Bible Question:
Concerning the "Hot Topic" of once saved always saved. I found these verses interesting: What are your comments? Heb 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, The interesting part to me was that the verse uses the words "no more". This would seem to suggest that these people were once paid for with the same blood that we were bought with. There sins were blotted out with Christ sacrifice. Also "knowledge of the truth" can only be truth to a person if they beleive it. And to beleive in Christ comes with the remission of sins. Luk 1:77 to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins Is salvation not the knowledge of the truth? Rom 11:20 Well, because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be high-minded, but fear. Rom 11:21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, fear lest He also may not spare you either! Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness, and the severity of God; on those having fallen, severity; but on you, kindness, if you continue in the kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. Rom 11:23 And those also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in. For God is able to graft them in again. The part I would like answered of the 5 verse in Romans. Is the use of the the words in verse 22,"Otherwise you also will be cut off." Cut off implies that they were once part of something. And verse 23,"if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in. For God is able to graft them in again." Can unbeleif get a person cut off? And what does the vine represent that these people are again made part of if they do not continue in unbeleif? For any answers given, Thank You MaTT |
Bible Answer: Hebrews 10:26: You received Jesus as your Savior, ONCE. You cannot receive Jesus as your Savior again. You have already accepted Him, He cannot sacrifice for you again. You will always be a born-again believer, even if you go back into the world. Scripture says if we sin, we need only to ask Jesus to forgive us of our sin and we are right back where we started before that sin happened. But, you can get to the point where you will be so hardened against scriptures that you will not receive the things of God. Then you will be in trouble at the Great White Throne of Judgement. In Luke 1:77 when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we come into the light from the darkness. Before we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we were in the darkness; We could not understand the scriptures. But now we are in the light they are made clear by the Holy Spirit. Jesus stated that the Holy Spirit would bring all things to our remembrance. We all recognize the statement that God made the Israelites the chosen people. Right? After we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are grafted into the Jewish state as part of the new generation of Israelites who believe in Jesus. The blinders are taken off. The scales are removed. Now, the part that you want answered is that "we will be cut off." Understand this: God operates in love. If you do not operate in love, He cannot operate in your life and thus He cannot bless you. If He cannot bless you, you will not be a part of His kingdom and thus you shall be cut off. Also, if you continue to do the things of the world, then you will go right back into darkness again. |
