Bible Question:
Is there any where in tbe Bible that says you must Fellowship and Worship the Lord in a Church me my self beleive that you can worship the Lord anywhere but one of my dear friends ask me that question this morning and wanted me to find a verse or book of the Bible that explains that you must go to the house of the Lord. Thanks |
Bible Answer: Greetings Dee! Hebrews 10:25 is a good verse to study, since it says, "Let us not give up meeting together... but let us encourage one another.." [NIV] We are part of the body of Christ as Christians, and we should fellowship together and worship in unison with each other. There are examples of "house" churches in the Bible (Romans 16:5), and even Jesus attended fellowship (the Synagogue) frequently (Matthew 12:9; Mark 1:21). Following the model of Christ, attending church and having fellowship with other believers is something that we should make a regular and consistent practice of also. The place (building, etc) is not so much important as the fellowship and the strength that we draw from that fellowship, but I believe that the Bible directs us to fellowship regularly with those who believe, and "church" is our most popular designated place to fellowship together.
