Bible Question (short): The Blood, The Body |
Question (full): Can this be interpreted as a reference to communion or eucharist? What I get from these verses is this: We enter the presence of God BECAUSE of the BLOOD. And We enter THROUGH the BODY. The KJV translation: 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; New Century Version 19 So, brothers and sisters, we are completely free to enter the Most Holy Place without fear because of the blood of Jesus' death. 20 We can enter through a new and living way that Jesus opened for us. It leads through the curtain -- Christ's body. The Message: 19 So, friends, we can now - without hesitation - walk right up to God, into "the Holy Place." Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The "curtain" into God's presence is his body. 20 |
