NASB | Hebrews 1:2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 1:2 has in these last days spoken [with finality] to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus], whom He appointed heir and lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe [that is, the universe as a space-time-matter continuum]. |
Bible Question:
How many worlds were framed by the word of God. Hebrews Chapter 11 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Love Leftwich |
Bible Answer: Leftwich, the answer is one world. The word 'worlds' in Hebrews 11:3 means 'ages' literally. Perhaps the sense of the passage is rendered more clearly by the English Standard Version which translates Hebrews 11:3 thusly: "By faith we understand that the UNIVERSE (emphasis mine) was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible." .... Please note the singluar use of 'world' in Hebrews 1:2 and of 'earth' in Genesis 1:1 --Hank |
