NASB | Hebrews 1:2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 1:2 has in these last days spoken [with finality] to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus], whom He appointed heir and lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe [that is, the universe as a space-time-matter continuum]. |
Bible Question:
I've been having an ongoing discussion with a Christian friend over the past few weeks. My question is, "Does God speak to us directly, and if He does, how does He do it?" Thank you for taking the time to answer me. In Jesus, saltandlight |
Bible Answer: Greetings! Input Heb 1:2 in the Questions/Notes on verse text field in the green stipe at the top of this page. God does indeed speak to us. We can "hear" Him through His Word. "Hear the word which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel."Ezk 3:10 Sometimes God may speak unbidden but mostly we hear Him as we desire to hear His voice. God speaks to us throguh His Word, through His Spirit, through prayer, through circumstances and through other people to name a few . . . I also believe that God speaks to some in visions and dreams. God's voice may also be audible for some (He has spoken this way to me three times.) Since everyone's relationship with the Lord is personal, we should be careful not to put limits upon what God can or can not do - one time, He spoke by using a donkey. God still speaks, the question is: are we listening? Blessings, mommapbs |
