NASB | Titus 3:7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Titus 3:7 so that we would be justified [made free of the guilt of sin] by His [compassionate, undeserved] grace, and that we would be [acknowledged as acceptable to Him and] made heirs of eternal life [actually experiencing it] according to our hope (His guarantee). |
Bible Question: How does God bestow His Grace upon us? God knows the end from the beginning. We have a free will to sin or not to sin. Is it because of our free will to seek God and by trying not to sin that He bestows His Grace upon us? In essence is it because we seek God that He choses us? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Grestch42! We are "made right" before the eyes of God by accepting His Son and believing in Him through faith (Ephesians 2:8)! "And He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit." (Titus 3:5) "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." (Romans 9:15) John 6:44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him to life on the last day." (ISV) However, I believe that the invitation for salvation is open to all... John 6:40 "For this is my Father's will, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him to life on the last day." (ISV) So I believe that grace is offered to all! But few will receive this grace that is given to those who have faith in Jesus Christ. Blessings to you, Nolan |
