Bible Question: Who were Jannes and Jambres?
The cross reference is to Pharaoh's magicians, but they are not mentioned. Is this in Apocraphah?

Bible Answer: Dear Mike,

John Gill writes that the "Targum of Jonathan has these words: 'and Pharaoh called the wise men and the magicians; and Janis and Jambres, the magicians of the Egyptians, did so by the enchantments of their divinations.'" I don't believe I've ever looked at that particular targum.
