Bible Question:
Hi Nolan, Thank you for your quick answer. Let me say first, I am sorry about your family...I have very similar stories and I think their are many people who have shared similar experiences. I know that helps ease your pain any...but sometimes it helps to know that "we are not the only ones". The good news is...as a Christian, you now have a new family, with a very bright future! I tend to agree with you that this could mean families and nations as well. I noticed when you were talking about nations you distinguished between those who persecute Christians or who have no resemblance to Christianity, but did not mention those who do practice Christianity? When I read back over the passage 2Tim. 3:5...I saw that it said; highminded, lovers of self, boasters, lovers of pleasure, unthankful, disobedient to parents, unholy ect...but did not see anything in that passage to indicate that this may only include nations that deny Christianity. What I am saying is, I think even nations who allow Christian worship can also contain people like these passages descibe. Would you agree? Look at America, we allow Christian worship...but we also allow no worship and the worship of false gods. We certainly have our fair share of boasters, and prideful people, lovers of pleasure and disobedient children, ect..wouldn't you say? I think that would be a hard point to question. Therefor, I would ask you...Do you think America could be one of those countries (in it's present state) that we could be called to turn away from? I know this is a hard question because it brings about feelings of treason on some level, and then there is the whole "submitting to the governing authorities thing"...but if you can, please answer honestly and from a spiritual stand point. And if you agree with this...than how do we do both? Turn away from a country...where we must obey the governing laws? Thanks...coop1 :-) |
Bible Answer: coop1, It is in the human nature to want to kill someone who has wronged you so deeply as OBL has done to us. It is also human nature to "follow the crowd". Many people who are doing the "chanting" are doing it because everyone else is doing it. These are both the results of Adam taking a bite of the apple 6000 years ago. And it will get worse. The bible has been quite clear on that. Let me ask you a question - when the going gets rough in your personal life do you give up on God or start doubting him? The United States has taken a strong blow from some very evil men, and she has staggered a bit, but she will come out of this proud. What your son is partaking in is defending God and the right to honor God - and it didn't just become very evil and sinister. What is happening here is a war in spiritual places because Satan knows his time is about up. America had to go to war and I stand beside her 100 percent! I am not proud of some of the people in this country but I am proud of America! America is defending the right to be free to worship the way God has called us to worship not only for us Americans but for others as well. America is defending the right to "feed the poor". America is taking a stand in defending women and widows and orphans who should not be abused and disregarded but who should be loved and cared for. America is defending what the country was built upon - one nation under God, indivisible, with LIBERTY and justice for all. And to some that will mean the right to worship idols and false gods. But if America withdrew from this war or had never started it just where would we be? Probably being beaten for not worshiping Allah. How would we witness for our Lord then? prayon - a veteran |
