Bible Question (short): Is there conflict between Paul and Matt? |
Question (full): Hello. There was some debate in past Jabob vs. Paul case. But anybody notice that (also) Matthew is many times against Paul Theological opinions. Most scholars think that Gospel of Matthew was written after Paul letters and it is written in Jerusalem, where it holds Jewish Christian insight. Few Examples.. where we find without doubt conflict between Matthew and Paul. Jesus teaches in his famous Sermon of Mount: Matt. 5:18 (KJV) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Paul teaches that Christ is end of law. But Jesus said, that until heaven and earth passaway, law will not passway. We all know that heaven and earth is not yet passed away. So, is Paul theology terrible wrong here? Matt 5:19 (KJV) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Paul mainly thought, that we don't need anymore keep the Mosaic laws and teach them. But Jesus clearly teaches that we must teach even least commanments to the people. Jesus confirm this in next passages: Matt 23:1-3 (KJV) Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, [that] observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. Matt 23:23 (KJV) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier [matters] of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matt 28:20 (KJV) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. |
