NASB | 2 Timothy 2:20 ¶ Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Timothy 2:20 ¶ Now in a large house there are not only vessels and objects of gold and silver, but also vessels and objects of wood and of earthenware, and some are for honorable (noble, good) use and some for dishonorable (ignoble, common). |
Bible Question: Which one is this verse meaning: (1) only gold and silver vessels give honor to the Lord as they are cleansed ones and others are not or (2) any type of vessels can if it cleanses itself? |
Bible Answer: If you read the verse it is saying there are gold and silver and also wood and earthenware vessels. Some honor and some dishonor. Read the Amplified. Remember a vessel can not cleanse itself, only it's master can do that. If our Master is Christ then we will be cleansed. |
