Bible Question: I was ordained by a mainstream Christian church when I was 17. God chooses who HE wants to minister for HIM, not man. Each is called according to God's purpose. I WAS called at a VERY young age. I was brought up by an atheist family yet I spoke DIRECTLY to the Lord when I was 4 years old and from then on I walked with the Lord. Some things are self-evident. I have been tested and proved to be worthy, not because of any greatness in me but because His Spirit dwells in me. The truth is that my life has been lived completely in service to the Lord. I LOVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WITH AN UNDYING HEART. And in this I know I am accountable to only HIM. I live ONLY for HIM. God calls, God chooses--not man. |
Bible Answer: Greetings! I'm not going to question your calling, but I do have some concerns about your preparedness. From our recent dialog, it appeared that you were not clear on the doctrine of propitiation. How can one who does not understand the elementary teaching of the Gospel play a role in the ordination of others? I would suggest that you prepare yourself first. 2 Tim 2:15; 4:6 Are you currently under the teaching of an elder or Pastor? In this way, when those under your care have questions (such as you first posed on this Forum) you will be able to answer them. Being set apart by God for God is humbling. Yet I suspect that there is always a certain amount of pride associated with this that the believer struggles with. Might I suggest that those who you perceive as being called into ministry be brought before the church for examination and let the church confirm their appointment? Jesus warns us about being "blind guides." Lk 6:39 Blessings, mommapbs |
