Bible Note: Hi yram, I am not sure if this is what you have in mind, but this is the scripture I thought of as I was considering your question: Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Our only gift to God is ourself. Which really shows how generous God is, since He already owns us. But He does count it as our sacrifice when we give ourselves to Him. But it's not about nurturing our potential. 2 Cor 4 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Its the power of God that is to shine through us, not any imagined power of our own. In my own experience, I have about enough power to make a really bad mess of things. But if I realize my own limitations, and let God do through me those things that I am not good at naturally, the power is His, the glory is His, and the joy is both His and mine. I hope this helps!
