Bible Question:
Is it considered Biblically divisive to prepare a Questionnaire to present to the congregation of a church? The purpose of the Questionnaire would be to get input from the congregation on how they want their church run. Paul indicated teaching contrary to the Bible would be divisive. Is differing on the ByLaws in discussion considered divisive? Is asking the leadership to obey the mandate of the congregation considered Bibblically divisive? When there was no leadership in place the congregation voted to distribute the Questionnaire. Yet the leadership has tried to avoid doing the Questionnaire. |
Bible Answer: God's day to you, ljwsheltonconpi, and welcome to the SBF, I believe you gave part of what is hapeening. What is right depends on the consitution of the the church. This includes the type of rule: congregation, elders, or a single pastor. I sense there is conflict ... and it must be settled within the church - with peace. Stay and share with us, Searcher |
