Bible Question: Now as to women teaching in the church....Joyce comes under the authority of her husband and I assume a pastor of a local church (which I assume approves of her ministry). Marilyn Hickey comes under the authority of her husband who is a Pastor of a Church...and Gloria comes under the authority of her husband also who is a Pastor/teacher/leader. So even though these women teach OVER men in church/meetings/crusades etc are they not still under biblical authority and able to teach as such.....??? |
Bible Answer: I believe they are still able to teach to the men and anybody else for that matter. The Women's silence has been largely hypocritical for years and if they were meant to be silent then how come she is allowed to sing in the choirs? What kind of church will not allow a woman to speak the words that she just sang a hymn about? Is that true silence? How can a Woman be able to influence the finances of ministry, leave an impact on the teaching curriculum, write lyrics and sing them, direct plays and implement their production, and then be told that her gender exempts her from speaking?? If Paul's words were to be taken literally by our society, then a woman in the Church should be silenced everywhere or nowhere at all! |
