Bible Question: Doc End quote and love and with sincere desire that we all come together in the unity in the body of Chirst. I belive women can be called by God to teach or preach but just not to become pastors. |
Bible Answer: Dear Devon, Thank you for sharing your beliefs with us. No one will take issue with your having beliefs. However, as I stated elsewhere today, our forum is based on the authority. The only explicit statements regarding women teaching are older women teaching younger women. Therefore, that is the only thing that we can state with unwavering certainty. We do not have a single example in Scripture of a woman independently and autonomously teaching the Word of God to men. It is possible that your belief is correct. However, I'd rather err on the side of the certain, clear, infallible, necessary, and sufficient Word of God in forming my own beliefs. To go beyond what the Word of God actually says is presuming on the Holy Spirit. Let us seek to master, by His grace, what the Word explicitly teaches, and the "gray areas" will fall into place. In Him, Doc |
