NASB | 1 Thessalonians 5:23 ¶ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Thessalonians 5:23 ¶ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged--consecrated to Him--set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
Subject: Why are we so quick to take offense? |
Bible Note: Nicodemus, I concur 100 percent. That is precisely why I am here (on this forum) asking some of my questions. I believe the NASB is the most accurate, literal translation we have in the English language today. But I believe that because of a consensus of biblical scholars, not because I know greek. I can read what it says, but I don't always know what it MEANS. That is where I need the Holy Spirit (primarily), other scripture, and fellow believers, theologians, and scholars to help me. So, no, we should not AVOID the use of great resources that are available. And I am not asking you (or anyone else) to discontinue using them. But, as you have said, they are 'someone else's opinion' as are ALL my posts. Thanks again. In Christ, Bill Mc |
