Subject: Holy Living |
Bible Note: Dear Eklektos, We are blessed that the Scripture does not leave us ignorant of such things. We needn't depend on experiences, and other vagaries that come and go based on a thousand different circumstances in this world. We have the very Word of God, that the Holy Spirit illumines to our understanding, applies to our hearts, and transforms our lives. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might UNDERSTAND the things freely given us by God. (1 Corinthians 2:12 ESV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-25 ESV) We do not see any command for "estatic times" (sic). See how many calls there are for sober mindedness and calmness of spirit. In Him, Doc |
