AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain [on the earth] will simultaneously be caught up (raptured) together with them [the resurrected ones] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord! [John 14:3; 1 Cor 15:52; 2 Cor 5:8; Phil 1:23; Col 3:4] |
Subject: When was the term "rapture" begin? |
Bible Note: Jim As I mentioned in my first post the postion you champion is one of many. Since scripture can be and often is interpreted differently other conclusions have been reached about what is called the Rapture. Nothing in scripture precludes any of those other views from happening nor do they weaken any essential position of the scriptures. So we have to consider them as being possible and awaiting until events are so fulfilled that they are proven or shown to be wrong. To do so now shows we refuse to consider others points of view, when they cause no harm to the any teachings of scripture. That is called being unreasonably closed minded. |
