AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again [as in fact He did], even so God [in this same way--by raising them from the dead] will bring with Him those [believers] who have fallen asleep in Jesus. |
Bible Question:
Hey Doc, I saw you awnser the guy about us going to heaven and not staying in the ground, I compleatly agree with you, However I have a relative that is searching for that awnser also but, what I do not know is in 1 thessalonians 4:14-18 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words. So what I want to know is, Who are the Dead in Christ? can you tell me? thanks Doc, |
Bible Answer: Our spirit goes to heaven when we die In Christ. When Christ returns for His church, we (our spirits) come with Him. The dead in Christ means that our earthly bodies in the grave will be raised and joined with our spirits. Just as Christ was raised bodily, our earthly bodies will be raised. We will be changed into a new body. Those who have not died a physical death but are alive will join the Lord in the air next. They will be changed into their new bodies. Examples in scripture are people who did not die but were taken such as Elijah. Read the complete chapter of Corinthians 15 which is called the Resurrection chapter. :) 1 Cor 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
