NASB | 1 Thessalonians 3:5 For this reason, when I could endure it no longer, I also sent to find out about your faith, for fear that the tempter might have tempted you, and our labor would be in vain. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Thessalonians 3:5 For this reason, when I could no longer endure the suspense, I sent someone to find out about your faith [how you were holding up under pressure], for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our work [among you] would prove to be ineffective. |
Bible Question: What is the relationship between "faith" and "fear"? Do these have a 'reciprocal' relationship? If we have 'faith' does this mean that we have much less 'fear', and vice versa? |
Bible Answer: Faith and fear requires us to do the same thing. We must react now to a future we cannot see. We chose to react to fear or act on faith. We chose to walk in the fear of the flesh, or walk in the faith of the Spirit. When we are really under attack from the enemy, our flesh wants to draw back in fear but the Spirit wants us to reach out in faith. Jesus Lives! retxar |
