Bible Question: The mystery of Christ was revealed on the Cross was it not so what mystery is Paul referring to? |
Bible Answer: Hi Rosiedog, I'd like to expand a little bit, if I may, on the answer Doc gave to you. In the Greek language, "musterion", from which we get "mystery", didn't mean quite the same thing to them as mystery does to us. We think of "mystery" as something we can't figure out. But the Greek "musterion" refered to something that had been secret, but now is being revealed. As Paul says, "proclaim the mystery", he means "tell about this thing that had been a secret, but is now revealed". I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
