Bible Question:
What was Mark special gifts and how was he called by Jesus |
Bible Answer: Dear joycedorman, I suppose you mean the author of the Gospel of Mark. Church tradition consider him John Mark, Barnabas' cousin (Col 4:10), closely associated with Peter (1 Peter 5:13)thus penned the Gospel of Mark. No scriptural record shows that he was called by Jesus nor he had any special gifts. He failed Paul in his ministry and caused argument between Paul and Barnabas (Acts 15:39). However, he should have been restored later and Paul commended him (2 Tim 4:11). |
