Bible Note: "In Colossians 2:16-17, Paul explicitly refers to the Sabbath as a shadow of Christ, which is no longer binding since the substance (Christ) has come." Grammatically speaking Paul is not contrasting shadow with body as is commonly assumed; what he is doing is saying "let no man judge ... but the body of Christ" (i.e., the church is to decide these matters).
