AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 4:8 ¶ Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. |
Bible Question:
do we need to ask for forgiveness daily and any hints on overcomming temptation. thanks, Mike |
Bible Answer: Mike, Christians are commanded to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17), and Jesus taught His disciples to pray for forgiveness of their debts -- and He added, "as we forgive others." (Matt. 6:12). Jesus also included in the model prayer for His followers another petition: "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." (Matt. 6:13). So, you see, in His perfect model prayer, our Lord made provision for both of your concerns, of forgiveness and of the way to deal with temptation and have deliverance from evil. --Hank |
