Bible Question: What's up with prayer. I have just recently read Mathew 21:21,22/Jn 14:12-14/Mk 11:23. It seems that these verses talk of a limitless source. Yes, God is without limits, but where do you draw the line in petitioning God...your will, or His. I have always heard, "Lord Your will be done." After all even Jesus said it in the garden, but where do you draw the line in having faith that "anything" you ask for in prayer as long as it lines up with the Word of God you will have? It's a hard pill for me to swallow because it seems to appear that God just chills out and waits to answer what we ask Him...thanks...hope it's clear enough for you to answer |
Bible Answer: jsmith, Sometimes we don't like the answer God gives us. We might think we are lined up with him, but he may not see it that way. He may give us what we need in response to our prayer rather than what we want and that may be a taste of the cross before he lets us taste the victory that follows. Emmaus |
