Bible Question: What does the bibles say about praying for patience? |
Bible Answer: Hello Weslena, One of the best- and my favorite- passages on praying for patience can be found in Phil. 4:6-7 Phil 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Phil 4:7 "And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (NASB) Paul instructs us on 3 things here: 1. what not to do: be anxious about anything- which carries the idea of concern or worry. These are the opposite of being patient. 2. He then tells us: what to do- "but in everything let your requests be made known to God". 3. Finally, he tells us why: (that) the peace of God which surpasses knowledge will guard your (our) hearts and minds- in Christ Jesus"! I hope this helps, BradK |
