AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 3:8 But more than that, I count everything as loss compared to the priceless privilege and supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord [and of growing more deeply and thoroughly acquainted with Him--a joy unequaled]. For His sake I have lost everything, and I consider it all garbage, so that I may gain Christ, |
Bible Question: Where is the verse about holding all things loosely? Thank You! |
Bible Answer: Hi Pinkerton98, I couldn't find any scripture with this exact wording. However, Phil 3:8 speaks to the princible of being willing to count all things a loss that one may obtain Christ. Also, the story of the rich ruler found in Mark 10 and Luke 18 talks about holding onto riches instead of being willing to give them up to follow Jesus. In Acts 2:44 the early church was willing to hold all things in common. There are some things we are to hold onto tightly. Read Ps. 119:31, Phil. 2:16, I Cor 15:2; 16:13; I Thess. 5:21; II Thess. 2:15; I Tim. 1:19; 3:9 and Titus 1:9. Hope this helps, Bows44 |
