Bible Question: paul reveals the differences of christians with "enemies of the cross" what are the differences in goals and destiny in vv. 17-21 |
Bible Answer: Greetings - as I read this passage it appears that Paul is possibly referring to his warning in v 2. These verses suggest that in our journey, we will encounter those who look religious because of what they "do" and yet they have no intimate relationship with the Lord - they are "enemies of the cross." Their goal is a righteousness based upon their "good works" and their desitiny is eternal separation from God. see Mt 7:15-23. Believers can look forward to the promise of v 21. (So can unbelievers, for they too will be subject to Him!) Blessings, mommapbs |
