Bible Question: Was Jesus afraid of dying? |
Bible Answer: Hello ddethdan, There is nothing in scripture that I'm aware of to give any evidence that "Jesus afraid of dying". About as close as we could come would be Matt 27:46- "About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?" In contrast, Phil 2:8 states- "Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." As an observation, there would be little to fear by death for the God man. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
