Bible Question:
Hi, I would like some help on answering a friend's question. She believes one can loose their salvation and I've been trying to do a study that tells her you can't loose your salvation once you are really born again into the family of God. Can you help? Thanks! |
Bible Answer: I agree with you that a person who is saved cannot lose their salvation. I am not convinced, though, that there is a great deal to be gained by trying to convince your friend that your view is correct. Is this issue a stumbling block for her? If so, you may point her to John 18:9 and John 10:27-29. Having said that, I caution you not to view salvation only as an event that happens one day. Jesus explained salvation using the parable of the sower and the ground in Luke 8. Some seed sprouted but didn't mature. Some matured and bore fruit. I don't mean to confuse the issue, but neither do I want to promulgate a "cheap grace" that the Bible doesn't teach. |
