AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 2:13 For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. |
Bible Question:
"endure to the end" [Mt 10:22, Mt 24:13, Mk 13:13]. If Christians are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, then what do these verses mean? Isn't 'enduring to the end' an extra something we have to do? And if so how can we be saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone? |
Bible Answer: Are we saved by grace alone? See Rom 3:28; Eph 2:8-9. Matt 10:22. "The word 'saved' is used here, not in the sense of the salvation of the soul but of deliverance out of persecution" (p. 1008, New Scofield Reference Bible, 1967, Oxford). |
