AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 2:12 ¶ So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]. |
Bible Question: Are tithes to the church only acceptable to God in monetary form or can it be done by your work as well. I need clarification on this subject. |
Bible Answer: Dear Hood Rat, Absolutely! Whatever God has given you, you can return to Him by service. Paul states that the Gifts of the Spirit are diverse and we should use these gifts that the Spirit has given to God's glory. (Jam 2:18 KJV) ...I will shew thee my faith by my works. Paul praises the works of his fellow workers. Whatever you give to God as your tithe or offering is between you and Him. For it is written, "work out your own salvation" (Phi 2:12 KJV). (Mat 6:4 KJV) That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Consider 2 Corinthians chapter 9 Blessings to you, terrib |
