Bible Question: I am unsure who to consistently pray to...God or Jesus. I believe that God Is One with three relational persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Please give me some clarity. |
Bible Answer: Jesus gave the example of how we should pray in Matt 6:9-15. "This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. I personal pray to God The Father, for the above reasons. As I pray I keep in mind that the Lord Jesus said that we ask our petitions in His (Jesus') Name. Yet on the otherhand I believe that it is not wrong to ask things of the Lord Jesus is prayer either: John 14:10-14 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. -khuck |
